Space Derby 1/11/2018
Our January pack meeting will be an indoor space derby. All scouts can build a rocket and blast off.
Please RSVP now in scoutbook for any scouts that wish to participate. If your plans change we understand. Please also add a note about any other siblings that wish to participate. We need this information so that we may order the correct amount of rubber band/ propeller race kits and not over purchase and have to return surplus. For any kids that did not sell $300 in popcorn we ask for a ten dollar activity fee to cover the cost of the kit, awards and track. See Mr. Killgore with money and to pick up a kit. We would like to get the kits to you in November so that you and your scout can work on it together over the holidays. This is a balsa wood kit that does not require the use of any saws, knives or power tools. Sand paper, elmers glue and tempra paints are about all you need to complete this fun craft. Lions and Tigers will need some assistance but can do this craft and participate.

Time: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Tahosa Scout Ranch
Address: 173 Co Rd 96, Ward, CO 80481
We will meet at Mission Hills Church at 7:30 am with the Troop, and will drive to Boulder. In Boulder, we will meet for breakfast at the McDonalds on Baseline Road off 36. From there, we will drive up to Tahosa for a day of ice fishing, sled riding and winter fun. We will drive up boulder canyon from the middle of town.
We will have access to the heated dining hall where we can put on snow pants and boots as well as warm up and eat lunch. A complementary lunch will be provided by the Troop.
This is a great opportunity to participate in an outdoors event with the Troop, and for the Arrow of Light scouts to complete their Scouting Adventure requirements. While the Boy Scouts will be camping there that night, the Webelos scouts can only attend during the day. We will need to return to littleton by 5:30 that day.
Scouts and leaders must travel in uniform shirts and pack their snow gear in a bag they can cary into the building. Helmets are required for sled riding and active games on the ice. A bike helmet will be fine but ski helmets are warmer. You will want to bring a sled.
Unless prior arrangements are made with leadership, parent participation is required for Webelos and AOL scouts and the scouts will need to ride with their parents. A waiver is required for each scout. We will also need the medical forms submitted to the pack. All Webelos scouts and adults attending will want to be prepared for very cold winter conditions for this outing. Do not wear cotton clothing as a base layer but a wicking layer instead. Here are some tips: Winter Camping
We also have a few BSA travel rules that we need to follow. You may only have someone else's child in your car if they are in the back seat and your child or another parent is in the car. Our day trips are limited to 10 hours. ( no sleepy tired leaders driving) We do not convoy/ caravan. Instead we meet up at way points for food and restrooms. Do not follow each other with you lights on. (Keep your eyes up watching traffic and drive the speed comfortable for your vehicle or trailer rig obeying all traffic laws.) The short camp road and parking lot will probably be snow pack and is on a slope.
794 Food Drive for MHC: 11/11/2017 8:30-Noon
Event: 794 Food Drive For MHCWhere: Coffee Shop and Fireplace MHCWhen: 11/11/2017 8:30-Noon Pack 794 Families,I hope all our scouts are able to support T794 and MHC for all they do for us. This is the only thing we do for them every year. The food collected will go to the food pantry for mission Hills church to help feed needy families. It's a great way to help Mission Hills Church. This also fulfills a Duty To God required adventure point for most ranks in that we are supporting our faith community or charter org. through service. We will be walking through neighborhoods with two or three adults in each group and a car to put the food in. All scouts should be accompanied by a parent partner. If you are not able to come with your scout, talk to your den leader to find an adult that the scout will be assigned to for the entirety of the event and leave a message here in scoutbook. If you bring another scout with you to the event make sure your scout is also with you in the car and that your guest is not riding in the front seat. Please RSVP through scoutbook so T794 will know how many to expect.Hope to see you there,
Sean

2017 Pop Corn Sales
Greetings
parents of Pack 794,
The
pop, pop, popcorn season has arrived. We rolled out the popcorn program during
our August pack meeting and scouts can start to sell now. There are some great
prizes and opportunities for your scout to pay their way for the 2017 scouting
year. You will find attached to this email a sales log, prize form and sales
incentive award tiers unique to our pack. Selling popcorn is a great way to
build confidence and a sense of ownership in your scout.
If
door to door sales is not your scout’s comfort or if your new to your area and
would rather reach out to your family, take advantage of the much improved
Trail’s End website for online sales. Your scout can build their own page,
including a video, that you can send out to family, friend and those in your
social network. The online store is full of popcorn and unique items only found
there.
This
also happens to be our pack’s biggest fundraiser this year and hoping that each
scout can sell enough to reach $700 that will pay their way for this coming
year. If your scout needs motivation and is a football fan, there is great
Bronco’s experience that can be earned. This experience will last all season
long and includes meeting current players, exclusive access to the stadium and
holiday parties that they can attend.
If
you have any questions, would like to discuss the program or would like to have
your scout talk to our Popcorn Kernel for some one on one sales coaching,
please contact Jason Crew at 720-361-3443. His scout is in the Bear Den and
he will be available at all Thursday meetings with forms and support.

Spring 2017 Recruiting at MHC
Mission Hills Recruiting: May 6 & 7
Summer is the best time for scouting and we want to invite boys to join us for all the fun we have outside! We will be starting the new year of Cub Scouting in May with Cub Scout Sign Up night. In preparation for that, we will be doing some recruiting at Mission Hills on May 6 & 7. As well as some schools in the area. If you can help, please let me know. Check back here for more details. Our wonderful chartering organization allows us to hand out flyers in many of the Sunday school classrooms but we need an adult for each room in order for this to happen. The teachers are too busy checking out the kids. I need some adults to help. The boys are welcome to help or go to Sunday school. The boys should come in their best full uniforms. Adults please wear new pack t shirt if you have one. If not, a light blue shirt. This will let them know we are a part of what they are doing. Please let me know if and when you can help even if you normally go to church elsewhere. We will meet in the Rahaplace hallway on Saturday evening at 5:15 for 45 minutes and Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11:15. I hope everyone can make it to one of the services to help. No one is expected to attend all of them. One is great. Check back here for updates.
Yours in Christ and Scouting,
Sean West

Scout Sunday 2/5/2017 at Mission Hills Church
Pack 794 Families,
This Saturday night and Sunday morning we will be gathering and serving at MHC for scout Sunday. Our wonderful chartering organization would love to have all our boys help as greeters before the services. This is a great opportunity for us to give back and let people know what a wonderful bunch of scouts we have. The boys should come in their best full uniforms. Please let me know if and when you can help even if you normally go to church elsewhere. We will meet Kelly Hall at the welcome center on Saturday evening at 4:15 and Sunday morning at 8:45 and 10:15. I hope everyone can make it to one of the services to help. No one is expected to attend all of them. One is great. Check back here for updates.

Blue and Gold Banquet 2017
On Thursday, February 9, Pack 794 will be holding our Blue and Gold Banquet and Crossover Ceremony! We will meet by the fireplace and coffee shop and start at 6:45. All scouts and their families are welcome.
Each year in February, the Boy Scouts of America celebrates the anniversary of its founding in 1910. To commemorate this, Cub Scout Packs hold the Blue and Gold Banquet in February or March each year. Our Pack has four Arrow Of Light Scouts who will be graduating, or crossing over, to the Boy Scout Troop this year.
Congratulations to Alex Grimes, Gabe Ohnstad, Cody Foster and Sean Craig, who will be receiving their Arrow of Light award, and will be crossing over into Boy Scout Troop 794. It has been a great pleasure to serve as their leaders and watch them work with their families to earn this award.
We would also like to welcome Mathew Fall to 794 who will be crossing over from the Ben Franklin Academy pack.
We all wish them the best of luck in Boy Scouts!
I look forward to seeing you all there!

Mr. Grimes and Mr. West

Family Camping & Fishing @ Sylvan Lake State Park 5/27&28
We needed more camping opportunities this year for the boys to be able to meet their requirements so we have added an early summer trip. We cannot expect everyone to make it to every event. This was a wonderful location my family has camped at and we wanted to return with you! There is a fishing pond on site. We have made the reservation for Saturday and Sunday nights to take advantage of the holiday weekend and hope to get families signed up ASAP.
Sylvan Lake State Park
1002 Brush Creek Rd. Eagle CO 81631
Map
Please arrive after 1:00 on Saturday.
This is a three hour drive for many of us. After leaving the highway, I recommend a rest stop and the Eagle Visitors Center. This is a great place to let the kids run around a bit before driving out the park.
Site Cost: $50 per tent. To hold your site please get a $50 check to Mr. Killgore and RSVP to Ms. Bogan. Space is limited.
Each family will travel by themselves to the park, and bring their own tents, sleeping bags, and other equipment. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend along with their Scout, but we will need at least one parent or adult partner to attend with each Scout. If you want to share meals or have your scout help plan and cook to meet his requirements, let us know! There are hot showers, laundry and a playground.
Activities: cooking, hiking, campfire skits, songs and stories by each den, stargazing, scout skills, sports, fun!
Please turn in you medical forms and activity consent forms to Ms. Bogan and/or Mr. Palmer ASAP.

Webelos Ice Fishing With Troop 794
On Saturday, January 28, 2017, the Webelos and AOL scouts can attend the Ice Fishing outing with Boy Scout Troop 794 for the day! There will also may be some sledding and wind sledding.
RSVP to legomasterzak@gmail.com
Date: 1/28/17
Time: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

Yours in Scouting,
Mr. Grimes & Mr. West
